The fire

A couple of weeks back, we had a scare in the new house when 5,000 acres of Peavine Mountain (on which we live) burned. The fire started at the Sommerset development west of our house and quickly spread east, burning throughout the night.

By morning, the firefighters and air tankers had knocked most of it down, but it was closer than we were comfortable with. Will post pics of the burned areas and large swaths of fire retardent that still lie on the mountain next time I hike up there with the camera.
